LESLEY MAXWELL MANN

HS Women's Choir Director 


Lesley Maxwell Mann is an Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at Belmont University, where she coordinates the student teaching program, and teaches coursework in Choral Methods, Middle School Methods, and Behavior Modification. She is the conductor of the Women’s Chorus, a large choir of women comprised of majors across the university. Previously, Dr. Mann served on faculty at the College of Central Florida, teaching applied voice and directing the Concert Choir and Musical Theatre ensemble. Dr. Mann was also the Director of Choral Activities at William R. Boone High School in Orlando, FL.


 As a performer, she has sung with the Tallahassee Bach Parley, an ensemble incorporating historically-informed performance practice of Baroque music. At Walt Disney World, she sang with the Voices of Liberty and swam with Finding Nemo, the Musical! She has been a professional soloist with the Florida ACDA High School honor choir, and a featured soloist in many concerts with the Festival Singers of Florida.


 She received her Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music Education, and PhD in Choral Conducting and Music Education from the Florida State University, studying with Andre Thomas, Judy Bowers, Kevin Fenton, and John Geringer.


Dr. Mann is an active conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. Her research interests include vocal pedagogy in the choral setting, conducting gesture, and teacher education.

COURTNEY CONNELLEY

MS Mixed Choir Director


Courtney Connelly has lived in Orlando for eighteen years and has worked as a teacher in Orange County since moving to Central Florida. She is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Music Education and completed her National Board Certification in 2004. She has worked at the middle and high school level as a chorus and piano teacher at Apopka Middle School and at Boone High School. She is an active choral clinician, adjudicator, and has served as guest conductor of Honor Choruses throughout the state of Florida. Memberships include Florida Vocal Association, Music Educators National Conference, Florida Music Educators Association and American Choral Directors Association. 

She believes strongly in the mission statement of OCPS, that the Arts are a Universal language and that they are a fundamental form of communication for every human being. She is committed to building a strong choral and piano program at Lake Nona that includes all students who have a desire to create and express themselves through music! 

JENNIFER SENGIN

HS Mixed Choir Director

 

Jennifer Sengin is a DMA Student in Choral Conducting at Michigan State University where she directs the Women's Glee Club and assists in the undergraduate choral methods course. Previously, Jennifer served as the Director of Choirs at East Brunswick High School in NJ and on the faculty of the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy. She is an active guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and presenter. She has contributed to articles in theChoral Journal and Tempo Magazine


Additionally, she served as R&S Chair of Ethnic and Multicultural Repertoire for NJACDA. Jennifer earned a MM in Choral Conducting from Ithaca College.
